Game On The Rise: 2020 Prep Prospects

Charlie Rowe, Action Sports Institute: The Class of 2020 prospect has the opportunity to emerge as a truly imposing big at 6-foot-11. He's a powerful above the rim finisher who stays true to the identity of a back to the rim big.

A polished and skilled four man at the ensuing level of play, Rowe has a workmanlike game and scores it at a high percentage around the rim. His knack for scoring at point blank, off putbacks, and finishing lob passes with thunderous dunks should earn him a significant uptick in Division-I interest and offers this season.

Rowe is also an adept defender and will create a stabilizing 1-2 rim protection force with 6-foot-9 Toon Gatkek, who averaged eight blocks as a high senior last season.

Fernando Caballero, Action Sports Institute:

The 6-foot-1, 205-pound guard has a football player build and is one of the stronger players in the program.

This aspect is translatable to his emergence as a stout on-ball defender who will provide pressure all across the court. With his ability to stay in front of guards and use his big frame to fight through picks, Caballero will catalyze the oft-pressing and trapping defense under head coach Brett Newman. While his frame projects at a high level, the Puerto Rico native has proven he can knock down shots from beyond the arc with consistency and really score it while creating his own shot.

With stepbacks and his ability to get into traffic and throw a head fake which bigger defenders bite on, Caballero is a tough scorer to neutralize. He averaged 19 PPG last season and shot it at a scintillating 55 percent from 3-point land.

A high academic prospect, Caballero boasts a 3.5 GPA and a 1200 SAT score. He's got the ability to prolong his career at an academically enriched University that places a premium on tough, two-way guards.

Mamadou Gueye, Central Point Christian Academy: At 7-foot-1 and an intriguing upside with his wingspan and ability to really block and alter the trajectory of shots Gueye has tremendous upside.

He has been a consistent presence on the glass thus far. With his length and wingspan, Gueye has the potential to really seal the net shut and steer attackers clear of the driving lanes. While he's still tuning up aspects of his offensive game, Gueye has flashed an adept touch from 15 feet out and a burgeoning above the rim game. Given the growth he's displayed since playing the game at a high level, Gueye has the chance to really ramp up his recruitment in a short period of time this season.

Jack Ramsey, Scotland Campus Sports

A deft left handed scorer from Colorado, Ramsey has shown an ability to be a dependable three-level scorer with a real nose for the rim. He's got sneaky bounce and sneaky explosive qualities to his game, as he occasionally erupts for the type of dunk only a rare breed of athlete is capable of. Strong and well built, Ramsey will transition seamlessly to the physical rigors and demands of college basketball.

At 6-foot-5, the Class of 2020 post-graduate has the potential to be a real glue guy for the Knights this season. He's got a knack for snatching rebounds, guarding multiple positions, and finishing on the break with a full head of steam. A high academic prospect, Ramsey possesses a 4.2 GPA. HIs work rate and low maintenance, unassuming style aligns with the type of high character and high upside guys that take full advantage of a post-graduate year.
